The first steam powered flour mill was built in the beginning of the 20th century in Sremska Mitrovica, Vojvodina, in the largest granary area of Serbia and since the 1950s, the mill operated as “Žitopromet Bratstvo”. In 2010 the company was fully taken over by (the) Mitsides Public Company Ltd, the leading flour and pasta producer in Cyprus, and ever since it operates as Mitsides Point.
Mitsides Point holds one of the leading positions in the Serbian flour, pasta and bakery products market. At its headquarters in Sremska Mitrovica, the company operates a recently constructed, fully automated dry pasta factory, as well as several additional production plants for fresh pasta, fillo pastry and waffles. Mitsides Point also owns two flour mills, a top quality bakery plant and three retail outlets. The company’s wide range of grain mill and bakery products, as well as its dried and fresh pasta lines of “Durum” and “Panona” products, are highly praised and recognized for their high quality, both on the local and international markets.
It all started back in 1932, when brothers Chrysostomos and Costas Mitsides bought a traditional stone mill in the heart of Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. This was the beginning of a successful story wich keeps on going even today, which passed down from generation to generation. In the decades that followed, this small family business flourished into the largest and most respected flour and pasta manufacturer in Cyprus. The Mitsides name now enjoys a great level of respect on the island of Cyprus and Mitsides flour and pasta products, with their prime quality and unique taste, dominate the Cyprus market. Moreover, Mitsides products are successfully spreading all over the World.
